If we reach the point where I believe our advisers should accompany Iraqi troops on attacks against specific ISIL targets, I’ll recommend that to the president,” Joint Chiefs Chairman Martin Dempsey told the Senate Armed Services Committee on Tuesday.

 

 

Asked to clarify, Dempsey said that all U.S. troops are trained to be combat-capable, but “that’s different than how we use them.”
