Ebola Strategy Revealed

Americans should be very concerned about the potential for an Ebola epidemic, especially in light of the Obama Administration’s inaction to protect the American people! It is absolutely unconscionable that arguably the most powerful leader in the world has done absolutely nothing to protect the American people from further infiltration of the Ebola virus into the United States from abroad. Americans should be outraged that his stance has continued to be one of worldwide social justice instead of honoring his presidential oath (see My ‘Larger Role’ Is ‘My Obligation to Make Sure Africans Are Safe’).

While the Government’s Ebola Response is Slammed, according to this article the President claimed that, “It was his job to make sure Americans were taken care of, he said he had a larger role.” What could be larger than doing his job to secure the borders and obey his oath of office? According to Obama, it’s “… Making sure that Africans, particularly children and their families, are safe.”

Apparently, the President wants us to believe his intentions are noble when, in fact, they are political. Common sense would dictate that the best course of action would be to isolate the Ebola virus in West Africa by eliminating all flights from infected areas and sealing the nation’s borders while providing the people in the infected areas state of the art medical assistance and support. However, this would not accomplish the Administration’s political agenda of retaining the U.S. Senate in the 2014 Elections by pandering to big labor’s gasping dinosaurs and minorities that the Democratic Party deems necessary to win the election. The Administration’s perspective is that this is a case of Ebola vs. civil liberties, and civil liberties and politics must always prevail even at the cost of potential catastrophic human suffering and death in America, not to mention the astronomical cost to a country already in danger of financial collapse due to 18 trillion dollars of debt! It is apparent from his statements and actions – including several fundraising trips – that the President is acting solely for political purposes (see America Needs an Effective Leader, Not a Politician).

All of us empathize with the plight of the people in West Africa and around the world who have been infected with Ebola, and the thousands who have died due to the disease. This is not a question of concern or providing aid for these people, but an effective strategy for isolating and eradicating the disease so it does not become pandemic and kill thousands of people in America and around the world. Unfortunately, this Administration and its supporters, despite sympathy for these people, also have other agendas that trump these concerns.

Obviously, from a political perspective the Administration views closing the borders as unacceptable as it may alienate its Hispanic voting base. Similarly, it is unacceptable to eliminate all immigration/flights into the country from West Africa as it may alienate the black vote. Never mind the hypocrisy that not taking these common sense steps to isolate Ebola could risk the lives of thousands of the very people they depend on for political support.

Even more heinous is the fact that big labor is using the Ebola crisis as a platform for increasing sagging membership rolls. First a Nurses Union Calls for Improved Ebola Preparation. The National Nurses United union publicly stated that an unnamed number of nurses at the Texas hospital described an atmosphere of sloppiness and chaos that exposed health care workers to danger as they treated the Ebola patient. It was apparent the union had concern for the nurses and hospital staff, but the ulterior motive was exposed late in the article above. Interestingly enough the union does not represent the hospital staff and saw this as an opportunity to increase its membership rolls. Characteristically it was apparently not an overwhelming number of the staff the union was quoting or representing, which is normal at the beginning stages of organizing.

The second instance is characteristic of the SEIU’s Death by a Thousand Cutspsychological warfare to either force unionize a business’s employees or increase its membership rolls at an already unionized business. In an e-mail sent out by the SEIU, the SEIU’s true motivation is apparent as it proclaims that the business is understaffed.

No worker should have to risk their health or safety—much less the threat of contracting an infectious disease—in order to make a living. Yet that is exactly what’s at stake for Air Serv cabin cleaners at NYC’s LaGuardia Airport.

Air Serv cabin cleaning crews encounter hypodermic needles, vomit and blood while cleaning. Just last month, one of the Air Serv cabin cleaners was hospitalized after being pricked with a needle while cleaning out a seat-back pocket.

To make matters worse? As the number of workers per job has decreased, so has the time allotted for them to clean these hazardous materials before the next passengers board the plane.

Airport workers went on strike late last week to call attention to this debilitating‎ and dangerous issue. Click here to demand that airlines and their contractors protect each and every airport worker on the job against infectious disease.

The lack of preparedness and protection workers experience every day on the job has grown even more alarming with the increased concern over the spread of Ebola.

The Centers for Disease Control issued new guidelines on equipment and procedures for airport workers. We need to make sure that they are provided with adequate protection.

With air travel regulations changing in response to legitimate fears of the Ebola virus, airlines and their contractors must take steps to ensure that ALL airport workers are protected and adequately trained on the job.

Sign the petition to call on America’s airlines to raise standards and do whatever it takes to protect airport workers against infectious disease.

In solidarity,

Valarie Long
    –    Executive Vice President, SEIU

It is apparent by the petition’s call to “do whatever it takes,” that the end goal for the SEIU is increased dues.

As Administration and Big Labor Desperation Escalates as the Mid-term elections move closer, it is obvious the Administration is cognizant of the fact that an Ebola outbreak could increase union rolls and membership dues for National Nurses United and the SEIU. It is not going to implement programs that could interfere with this opportunity especially so close to the 2014 mid-term election when big labor support is essential. This unfortunate chain of events begs the question — Is Obama Planning to Flood the System With Foreign Ebola Patients? If so, is it just to win the 2014 mid-term elections, or is it part of a more devious “Cloward-Piven” strategy and dictatorial socialism. Many believe winning the elections are necessary for the Administration and its supporters to achieve the final ultimate goal of total control.
