In response to new Commerce Department estimates that project economic growth at .1% for the first quarter of 2014, Republican lawmaker and candidate for U.S. Senate Rep. Paul Hollis (R-104) issued the following statements:
“The anemic numbers released yesterday by the Commerce Department are saddening but not at all shocking,” said Rep. Hollis. “After six years, we know that President Obama’s liberal policies kill jobs, expand government, raise taxes, and stifle entrepreneurism and innovation.
“It’s also abundantly clear that Senator Mary Landrieu is part of the problem. Rather than stand up for job creators and entrepreneurs in Louisiana, she blindly supports Barack Obama and Harry Reid’s anti-business agenda.
“I’m running for the United States Senate to be a part of the solution. As a business owner and entrepreuer, I know what it takes to jump start America’s economy again. By lifting burdensome regulations, heavy taxes, and ridiculous mandates on our job creators, we can usher in a new wave of hiring, investing, and growth.
“America’s best days are ahead if we can replace out-of-touch, career politicians like Mary Landrieu with common sense conservatives who truly understand our Louisiana values.”
