U.S. Congressman Kevin Brady (R-TX) released the following statement regarding several bills passed today by the U.S. House of Representatives, all aimed at stopping the practice of sex trafficking of minors in America:

“In this day and age many Americans find it hard to fathom that sex trafficking – the equivalent of modern day slavery – still exists in regions throughout our country.  The hard truth is that too many American children are being affected and as a father to two young boys, I can’t even imagine the horrors these children are subjected to. The steps we took today in the House will help to protect victims and stop those responsible for these atrocities, bringing them to justice. We’re moving in the right direction to right these wrongs, but there’s more to do in order to keep the most innocent and vulnerable in our communities safe.”
