Mom Media Enterprises, LLC (MME), creator of the influential Mom 2.0 Summit and producer of the annual Iris Awards for parent blogging, announced today that it has acquired Tastemaker Mom and all related assets from The Kive Company. The transaction closed in early April  2016.

The announcement was made by MME founders Carrie Pacini and Laura Mayes during the annual Mom 2.0 Summit, a gathering of 700+ leading parent bloggers, brand marketers and media representatives near Los Angeles. This event is held annually prior to Mother’s Day to discuss the intersection of parenting, media, and marketing. Led by longtime Title Sponsor Dove, the list of sponsors includes top names like Facebook, Amazon, Kia, Best Buy, Nike, Néstlé, and AIG. NBC’s Today Show is this year’s National Broadcast Media Partner, joined by Buzzfeed, National Geographic and other leading names in  media.

The acquisition represents a key expansion point for MME, which was founded in 2008 and has experienced significant growth in the years since. Tastemaker Mom will provide a larger scope of benefits to those Mom 2.0 already serves with its annual Summit and year-round community  offerings. Online parenting influencers, brands, and media outlets can all find benefits and opportunities in this  development.

MME cofounder and operations director Carrie Pacini sees this as a natural extension of the industry groundwork Mom 2.0 has set over nearly a decade. “Our goal was to provide a vibrant, active platform for parenting influencers, brands and media to build connections and work together. This was based on our fundamental belief that personal relationships are the root of commerce in this growing industry.” But she sees value in broader insights, consumer data and trend analysis as well. Pacini added, “If relationships are the engine that powers influencer marketing, then solid data will be the roadmap that guides it forward. With Tastemaker Mom, we’re able to create a first-class experience for a broader community of parents, who can quickly provide insights and engagement for the world’s leading brands and media  outlets.”

Tastemaker Mom was founded by the Kive Company, which gained fame for its flagship product, the top-selling Artkive app that has given hundreds of thousands of parents a way to preserve their children’s artwork. Jedd Gold, Kive Company cofounder and CEO, will remain with Tastemaker Mom in an advisory capacity. Gold understands the importance of consumer insights, and why Tastemaker Mom is a perfect fit for Mom 2.0. “Our extremely high user engagement and growth have been driven by the simple, powerful and quick connections we can make between brands and Mom,” said Gold. “I’ve known the Mom 2.0 team for years now and have observed their tremendous growth firsthand. They’ve built a highly-respected platform that’s trusted by many of the world’s largest brands, the top online influencers, and the best of media. I can’t think of a better fit for Tastemaker Mom and am excited to see its future under their  leadership.”
