New Poll Ranks the Best Car Rental Companies

By US Daily Review.

Just in time for summer family travel season, Zagat, the leading provider of consumer-based ratings and reviews, releases the results of its latest U.S. Car Rental Survey covering 10 leading brands.  Hertz made a clean sweep of top ratings for Vehicles, Reliability, Service and Popularity, netting the title of Top Overall car rental company. The surveyors, predominantly men, rented cars 11.4 times on average in the past year – 6.7 times for business and 4.7 for leisure. In addition to providing ratings on Zagat’s 30-point scale, the surveyors offered comments about their experiences with the various rental car brands.

Following Hertz, National took the No. 2 spot edging out Avis.  National also was rated the best value among the 10 brands. The following are lists of the top five winners in each surveyed category:

After waiting for almost one hour to pick up the car they gave me a different model, a Crown Victoria wich consumed tons of gas
Then they charged me twice (they didn´t realized I presented a BOUCHER already paid in my country).
After that I had lot of problems with the electronic toll payment service. The credit card was “hooked” and charged me with lot of passes. Budget made me contact the toll authority to solve the issue even when I contracted the service to them.
Please, don´t hire any service from Budget!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

was double talked by Agent. Was asked if we wanted additional insurance coverage, said no. Agent checked yes, we did not notice (my stupidity) was charged an extra 150.00 for insurance I did not want or need. Gave us the car dirty and with only 1/2 tank of gas but expected us to return the car with a full tank. Hertz rental is a much better rental company. Recently rented from them had no trouble nice and honest customer service. My best advice “STAY AWAY FROM AVIS RIP OFF COMPANY
