Video-Inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in Canton, Ohio on Saturday, two-time All-Pro wide receiver Cris Carter boldly gave thanks to God:

“Four things you should know before you leave the Hall of Fame about Chris Carter. I won’t apologize – I love God with all my heart.

“I love my family and I love my friends who stuck with me.

“And, just like these guys, I love football. I love this game.”

Carter’s comments are reminiscent of those made by another NFL Hall of Famer, Chicago Bears great running back Gale Sayers who, in his 1970 autobiography, “I Am Third,”famously wrote: “The Lord is first, my friends are second, and I am third.” The book, which discussed his friendship with dying teammate Brian Piccolo, was the inspiration for the movie, “Brian’s Song.”
