The Center for Regulatory Effectiveness states that environmental organizations have been successful in terminating offshore drilling in the Arctic and the Atlantic.

In that the Gulf of Mexico supplies some seventeen percent of the total US crude production it behooves interested stakeholders to participate in the resolution of this issue; in particular those residents in the Gulf states whose livelihood is dependent upon the continuance of an industry which has been in operation for decades.
The aforementioned letter to the Secretary of Commerce delineates the issue and its solution in only two pages—well worth the read for those to be injured by a pending regulatory action.
