Citizens for a Nuclear Free Iran (CNFI), a nonprofit organization dedicated to preventing Iran from obtaining a nuclear weapons capability, today launched a new national television advertisement as part of its ongoing campaign to educate the country about the dangers of the Iran Deal. The ad features Lt. Gen. (ret.) David A. Deptula, current Dean of the Mitchell Institute of Aerospace Power Studies and former Deputy Chief of Staff of the U.S. Air Force for Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance, discussing the risks posed by the  deal.

“The problem with Iran nuclear deal is that it would increase the high likelihood of the proliferation of nuclear weapons in the region…Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Turkey, the United Arab Emirates,” says Deptula in the ad. “Let’s not forget that Iran is the largest state sponsor of terrorism in the world. The deal will increase the likelihood of terrorists getting a hold of a nuclear weapon…that’s why we need a better  deal.”

Lt. Gen. (ret.) Deptula is a world-recognized leader and pioneer in conceptualizing, planning and executing security operations from humanitarian relief to major combat. A principal author of the seminal Air Force White Paper, “Global Reach—Global Power,” Deptula is considered the “father” of “effects-based operations” for his application of that concept in building the attack plans for operation Desert Storm. Deptula later served on two congressional commissions tasked with outlining America’s future defense posture. Over the course of his career, Gen. Deptula logged more than 3,000 hours as a pilot, 400 of them in  combat.

“General Deptula is one of a growing number of senior military leaders who are sounding the alarm on the dangers of the Iran Deal,” said Patrick Dorton, spokesperson for Citizens for a Nuclear Free Iran. “When the expert judgement of some of our most high-ranking military officials is that this deal can put America – as well as the world – at serious risk, we should listen. Congress needs to say ‘no’ to this deal and ‘yes’ to a better  solution.”

The advertisement is the third released by CNFI in an ongoing national campaign to oppose the recent Iran agreement and prevent Iran from obtaining nuclear weapons. Supported by members of Congress and human rights groups around the world, the campaign has committed to more than $20 million of national advertising to promote the dangers of the Iran  agreement.
