The State of the Union Response from Across the Ideological Spectrum

By  USDR.

We all now know that there were 4 actual responses to the President’s State of the Union address in Congress, with one being the “official” one from Sen. Joni Ernst (R-IA), Rep. Carlos Curbelo of Florida (mirroring Ernst’s response and for the Hispanic community),  the Tea Party Express chimed in with Rep. Curt Clawson (R-FL), while Sen. Rand Paul provided his own spin. Finally, Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX) made a response that he removed because he was not happy with  it.

But what about the other voices across the vast ideological  spectrum?

The Libertarian Party has certainly had a great deal of buzz in recent years, and this is what the Vice Chairman of that Party had to  say:

On the opposite end of the ideological spectrum, we have this from a group called the Socialist Alternative.  that organization has aligned itself with the Committee for a Worker’s International, which is “organized in 47 countries”.  We tried to find a position from the Communist Party USA and the Socialist Party USA, but neither had statements as of this  posting.

Here is the view of Seattle City Councilwoman, Kshama Sawant of the Socialist  Alternative.

We also searched for responses from the Green Party and Reform Party without any success.  In fact we looked at several political party sites without much luck.  It is likely that other parties will add their responses in the days to come.  An excellent website for keeping track of such additions is Independent Political  Report.
