It’s not a secret that, in today’s digitalized world, technologies power many industries and the cinema business isn’t an exception. Not only may custom software development help cinemas replace a physical box office by automating most of the routine processes such as management of schedules and selling of tickets, but they also can improve customer experience and attract a growing number of visitors to your movie theatre.

In this article, we will discuss applications that can take any cinema business to the next level.

POS systems

Selling tickets to movie-lovers is one of the most critical aspects of a cinema’s interaction with its visitors so it must go seamlessly. And the most irritating thing for any person who just wants to enjoy a new blockbuster is to stay in a long line in front of a cinema box office anxiously anticipating that the beginning of a film will be missed.

POS stands for the point of sale and if we speak about cinema, it is, basically, a cinema ticketing software that works on a movie theater ticket machine. It allows for the faster selling of tickets that results in better and more pleasant customer experience.

The basic functionality of any POS system:

booking seats

selling tickets/concessions

canceling bookings/tickets

coupons scanning

gift card support

In addition, a more advanced POS system for a movie theater may also have integrated printing solutions and reporting software, so you can easily keep track of the number of tickets sold per movie or during the entire run.

Movie theater kiosk

A study shows that 89% of cinema visitors would prefer purchasing tickets using self-service machines over buying them from a cinema cashier. So to reach a full POS potential we recommend you to consider equipping your cinema with movie theater kiosks that are, basically, an automated box office with a user-friendly display to help people buy tickets in a fast and simple way. If you decide to do so, a POS system should also have such features as an integrated payment processing system and a barcode scanner to give movie-goers the opportunity to scan their loyalty cards.

Today, in a time of virtual reality and 9D movies, a high-end POS system is no longer optional — it’s a must-have for any cinema.

Mobile ticketing applications

A decision to go to the movie theater is often made spontaneously so it’s important that movie-lovers have an opportunity to review what’s on the screen and buy the tickets at the moment they are thinking about visiting a cinema. Besides that, a number of mobile users is growing exponentially and it’s expected that it’ll reach a threshold of 4.7 billion in 2020. Hence, sooner or later, all cinemas will have to develop a mobile ticketing application. And we strongly recommend you to do it sooner to stay ahead of the competition.

Interesting fact: Fandango, an entertaining platform with headquarters in Los Angeles that allows cinema visitors to buy movie tickets, claims that 50% of its users perform transactions via the mobile application.

With a mobile application movie fans can:

buy tickets

view showtimes

watch trailers

review information about a movie

leave reviews

sign up for a loyalty program

On top of that, such an application can have the integrated GPS that is especially beneficial for cinema networks. Also, the features may include aggregation of cinema’s social media accounts into one feed so it’s convenient to spread the word about new movies and rewards programs across different audiences.

Pro tip: make your app available for both — iOS and Android devices to capture the greater audience.

Cinema management software

Cinema management software will be handy for any cinema owner. Depending on specific needs, it may include different features. For example, you may choose to create holistic custom software that will automate most processes in your theater — from creating playlists to tracking current stock levels. They will also integrate with other third-party solutions. Alternatively, you may opt for a system that has the basic functionality and handles only the most time-consuming tasks.

Key functions cinema management systems may include:

Management of schedules

Management of showings (lights, playlists, ads)

Management of a stock

Integration with POS systems

Issues reporting

Transaction tracking and stats collection

Promotion & email marketing

Management of payments & payment processing

Another great advantage of the cinema management solutions is that it’s possible to develop a mobile version of them so cinema managers can access these systems remotely and around the clock.

The most sophisticated cinema management systems not only help a cinema operate seamlessly, but they may also create a truly memorable customer experience. For example, visitors can order food and beverages to be delivered to any place in a movie theater (to their seats, bar or restaurant), they may choose the time of delivery, split the bill if needed and track the orders. At the same time, the kitchen crew can view all the orders on the dashboard so they know what and when to prepare and serve the food fresh.

Showtime analytics solutions

Gone are the days when video surveillance cameras were used only to timely react to conflict situations and spot pirates. Today, they help cinema owners understand their audience better and target marketing efforts accordingly.

Specifically, with showtime analytics tools, it’s possible to collect statistics about cinema visitors based on their sex and age. This allows theater managers to select trailers and commercials to be shown before a movie more effectively.

On top of that, showtime analytics solutions may include integrated face detectors that allow for the analysis of people’s emotions during a film. What is the overall emotional background? Did men/women like a movie or negative emotions prevail? What is the average age of people who loved the movie? Based on such data, cinema owners can make better and more informed decisions about what films should be ordered in the future.

Also, by comparing the number of sold tickets with the number of people who actually watched a film, it’s easy to determine how many unpaid visitors were in the hall and decide whether the control at the cinema entrance needs any improvements.

Thanks to the above features, showtime analytics solutions are great tools helping cinema owners distribute financial resources more wisely and increase profits significantly.

Movies are an inevitable part of our lives. However, it is hard to say that all people love the same genres. That is why we have dramas, comedies, fantasy, and horror movies. When you think about all the dramas and comedies, it seems that these are no questions arising why people like the genres.

Nevertheless, it surprises a lot of people why some of us prefer horror movies to all the other. Today, we are going to discuss it from the scientific point of view. Besides, if you are longing for some more movie-related news, then https://www.newmoviesth.com/ is the perfect resource to consider.

Horror burns calories

If you are trying to lead a healthy lifestyle and hit the gym any time you can and you love horror movies, we have a surprise for you. The fact is that watching horror movies makes our bodies burn calories as well. The research proves that one horror movie can burn over 100 calories. Just imagine, if you spend the whole weekend watching horror films, you will be allowed to skip a few gym sessions.

It is time to cope with anxiety

It is very easy to underestimate the damage that anxiety can bring into your life. On the very same hand, horror movies help people cope with anxiety. You may wonder how does it work? It is all simple at its core. The truth is that as a response to something scary that you see on the screen, your brain produces adrenaline, alongside with cortisol as well as glucose. Such a reaction triggers that feeling that allows you to know that compared to the film world, you are safe in real life.

Enhanced brain activity

When you are watching a comedy, your brain is relaxed, however, when you are watching a horror movie – your brain gets alert. That means that you are ready to accept unexpected news and situations better. What is more, after watching a movie like that you turn out to be more prepared for a list of difficult life situations.

Boost in the immune system

It may seem strange. However, horror movies can improve your immune system too. We have mentioned it that horror movies trigger the production of adrenaline. In case you do not know, adrenaline can mobilize your immune system.

Relationship Improvement

Do you tend to hold your loved one’s hand when you are sacred? There you go! If you are trying to mend things with your partner, watching a horror movie together is clearly one of the best ways to do that. It is scientifically proven, by the way.

Stimulated DNA

The truth is that we are not ready to respond to extreme situations in day-to-day life, for the most part. However, that does not mean that those responses are not encoded in our DNA. When you are watching a horror movie, those urges to act are triggered, and that is a good thing too.

From now on, you are going to enjoy the favorite genre knowing that it is scientifically proved!

Love is in the air again, pulsating, beating, reverberating, an entity of its own. It’s impossible to escape its clutches. Its magnetic pull can make the best of us heel. And honestly, why fight it? Let it flow through you, seep into your heart, heal your soul and be a source of comfort. As you wait for true love to come your way, here are 7 all-time favorite romantic movies to sate your beating heart for the time.

Gone With the Wind (1939)

Set during the American Civil War, the movie covers the struggles of Scarlett O’Hara, a Southern Belle, who will do whatever it takes to land a stable household. Obviously, the classic book it’s based on is brilliant, but the movie adaptation is beautiful in its own right.

The four-hour-long saga takes you through a roller-coaster of emotions. As men go off to war, as they die and then finally lose it all we see how wars tear apart homes and a whole culture. Of course, it’s not like we’re supportive of the white supremacy confederacy ideology or the Ku Klux Klan that our characters get involved with, but the movie tells a great story and we’re here for it. If you love history, this is one film you can’t ignore.

Casablanca (1942)

If you’re still recovering from a broken heart, wondering if they were the person for you, skip this number. In William Wyler’s classic an old flame is reignited. Set during World War II, we see Humphrey Bogart’s Rick who owns an upscale nightclub and gambling den in Casablanca come across Ingrid Bergman’s Ilsa, a former lover.

Rick has come in possession of two ‘letters of transit’ that allow the bearer to travel freely in the German-occupied Europe and to a neutral Portugal. Seeking these Ilsa and her husband, a Czech resistance leader and fugitive, approach him. From the get go, the movie offers multiple twists and turns. With tons of action, emotions running wild and great shots of a beautiful city all you need is a cozy blanket and popcorn and you’re set for the evening.

Titanic (1998)

When it comes to romance, how can we forget the iconic Titanic. Much acclaimed around the globe, it truly is the king of the world. Great performances by Leonardo de Caprio and Kate Winslet bring the characters of Jack and Rose to life, making us fall in love with them, root for them. Sadly though from the onset, we know they won’t end up together. But, the heart will go on and the love will continue to live.

The star-crossed lovers come from different backgrounds. Trying to maintain their upper-class status, Rose’s family are pushing her to marry Cal Hockley and though they’re engaged to one another, we see no chemistry between them. Frustrated with her life Rose attempts to jump into the ocean below, only to be persuaded by Jack to reconsider. From that moment on their love story begins and what a story it is. It’s sure to make you cry, but oh how beautiful are the tears. We’re sure you’ve watched Titanic before, but a movie like this you must watch again.

Dirty Dancing (1987)

Great music and great dancing, this movie will have you wanting to get a little dirty yourself. The 1987 hit stars Jennifer Grey as Frances “Baby” Houseman, a 17-year-old woman who falls in love with Patrick Swayze’s Johnny Castle, a dance instructor.

As you watch the screen, you’ll find it difficult to move your eyes away from Swayze’s rhythmically flowing body movements and the intense emotions of young love, great story line and choreography will get you hooked. It’s the stuff fairytales are made of.

My Best Friend’s Wedding (1997)

The perfect amounts of romance and comedy is what this movie is all about. Falling in love with your best friend is such an overused trope. We see it in movies sure, but in real life it can lead to a lot of heart ache if not reciprocated. This movie was specifically designed to get you all back to your senses, we’re sure. Especially this month when you might get a little reckless.

It all begins when Julia Roberts’ 27-year-old Julianne Potter receives a call from her lifelong friend Michael O’Neal played by Dermot Mulroney who invites her to his wedding. The two had made a promise that if they couldn’t find anyone else by the age of 28, they would marry one another. It is then that Julianne realizes that she loves him and sets out to sabotage his relationship with his fiancée and stop the marriage.

The second-hand embarrassment you get watching Julianne go through it all and come to her senses is sure to put your arduous, over-zealous heart in check. Unless what you’re feeling is true love for your friend and your friend feels the same for you. Either way, it’s a treat to watch, we promise!

The Notebook (2004)

Nicholas Sparks is on this list, on every list for romance there is and for good reason. Nobody tells a love story better than him. Yes its cheesy, yes it’s over the top, but we love all that don’t us? It takes special skill to make that combo happen and Sparks gets the sparks going for sure.

True love always find a way. Noah meets young heiress Allie when she’s 17 and their budding romance comes to a screeching halt when Allie’s parents intervene to protect their teenage daughter. The class difference between them would not have it otherwise. Noah goes enlists in war and Allie moves on with her life and meets a nice young man. When Noah returns from the war and their paths cross again, the chemistry is electric that neither can deny. But, they must find their love and battle the world for a chance together. We advise you keep tissue on hand, the tears are sure to flood your eyes.

A Star is Born (2018)

If you’re looking for a more current movie, A Star is Born is a great choice. The onscreen romance between Bradley Cooper and Lady Gaga will make you go for gaga for sure. It’s been remade a total of four times and while each was great on its own, this one offers a great experience in its own right.

Jackson Maine, a famous country rock singer, hears a beautiful performance paying tribute to Edith Piaf by Ally, a waitress and singer-songwriter. They spend the night talking, and Jack invites her to his show. Beautiful music and cinematography, the movie is a treat for all your senses.

Movie Marathon Alert

Movies really add to life, giving it meaning and helping one grow. One should indulge themselves and though it can get expensive, it’s not worth giving up. You can select your cable package from Spectrum to give you more or subscribe to streaming services for a great experience on the go. In the long run, you’ll thank us. Till then, happy movies!

Let’s face it. Even a toddler nowadays, at a tender age, seem to know how a mobile phone or tablet works. They can easily access any video under the sun, and yes, violence is one of those things that they have full exposure every single day. Even the games that they can readily download from the internet seem to promote battles and wars where the victory over enemies is the main goal. Zombies or annihilation of the human kind, complete with horrifying background sounds, also hold their ever-changing interest. I can name more, but do you get my drift?

Violence, aggression or hostility seems to take the limelight nowadays. It can found in so many ways. It could be in the form of an action program showing on the television, a murder news on the radio, morbid headlines on the newspaper, a quick search from the internet or worse, one they can experience in real life. Even the cartoons that your kids watch every day seem to promote violence, one way or the other. That latest action movie showing in the cinemas today? Yes, that one too.

Now that you think of it, these things seem to appear harmless. But extreme exposure to violence for kids, (in so many ways) really is a bit alarming. When was the last time that you sat down with a kid, watching a cartoon, and said to yourself, “Is this even appropriate for a child to watch?”. I bet that was a long time ago. We probably get used to these everyday occurrences that we tend to think, it is normal. Just imagine how these seemingly harmless exposures to aggression inadvertently mold the psychological state of mind of a kid. Pretty daunting, isn’t it?

Today, we are all living in the digital dimension, information (good or bad) are all readily available within a click of a finger. The invention of the ever powerful internet has changed the course of our lives in more ways than one. Unfortunately, this overpowering privilege to information availability also comes with repercussions. More so affecting the innocent lives of our children, one way or the other.

It does seem noteworthy to point out that children nowadays spend most of their time watching the television. And you can guess what is being shown in it, violence (either figuratively or explicitly). It even became more dynamic, graphic, sexual and sadistic. Video games involving physical battles played by children make them think it is okay to have physical battles in the real world towards other people. Music videos push them into violent territories as they try to copy what they see and hear. Virtual violence is also readily available on the internet. Children can easily download violent lyrics, violent movies, and other censored images. Horror movies and other movies combined with sexual imagery and violence create a disturbing effect on them. They are exposed to scenes of death, dismemberment, mutilation, sex and other morbid things. These are just some to name a few.

Their exposure and immersion to television and other electronic media are also known to interfere with their social activities such as playing, exploring and interacting with people. So instead of running around and playing in the sun outside with friends, which develops their social skills, most of the children would prefer to be at their beds or at the couch, either playing the latest video game in the television or on their mobile phones. Hence, more children tend to be overweight as they lost their chance to run around and sweat it all out, playing in the park or simply being outside their homes.

Children exposed to violence in various modes of media tend to increase their aggressive behavior, cognition, thoughts, and feelings. They also tend to be less empathetic and depreciating pro-social behaviors. This can also result in long-term effects making children sadistic and show manifestations of misogyny. The long-term exposure of children to violence in media can treat these violent actions as norms. They tend to do violent actions without regard to consequences. This can shape them into becoming violent adults and becomes a potential nuisance to the society.

With all these atrocious exposures to hostility in mind, how do you think we (adults) are faring in terms of molding our future generations? Ever heard the saying from T.S. Eliot, “Home is where one starts from”. Every kid, especially in the development stage, would learn everything from parents first, siblings if applicable, other friends they make along the way and family members. Then come the school and the community around them. Those who are surrounding the children have to made aware of how they can guide these kids on the right path. I heard it said somewhere, “It’s not what you do for your children, but what you have taught them to do for themselves, that will make them successful human beings”.

Imagine that the kid is a seed that is planted on the ground. There are generally two outcomes for the seed, depending on the ones taking care of it. If it was neglected, not exposed to sunlight, and no water for nourishment, the seed will not grow, and eventually will wither and die. On the other hand, what do you think will happen if it was planted where direct sunlight hits the ground, watered down properly and sometimes, even being lovingly talked to? Of course, the seed will flourish into a plant, strong and alive. This analogy can also apply to how are we going to mold our children’s values and morals. Are we going to be as careless as the other one who neglected the kids or are we going to be the guardians who will properly nourish the minds of our children? Proper guidance would always be a contributing factor to ensure that this daily exposure of children to violence does not get out of hand. This can simply start with the immediate people at their homes, the media, government and eventually, the whole world.

There are some simple ways that we can do to protect the minds of our children. The first thing is proper communication. The amount of time we spend with them is extremely important. Make sure that the kids are properly informed and that their unending questions are also answered in the best way we could. Being surrounded by caring adults would have much more impact on the psychological development of the children in ways more than we can ever imagine. We can also give them a pet and make them responsible for them so that they would have a sense of responsibility. It is also known to make children more sociable, sensitive, caring and have less time to play games on their mobile phones because they would rather play with their pets instead. Lastly, it would also be a good idea to make sure that the children are involved in after-school activities or sports, artwork, part-time jobs or tutoring programs.

Fear not, my fair maidens and handsome lads! Although the future might appear bleak and hopeless, it is not yet too late. Time is of the essence. We can still make the world a better place. Let’s start with ourselves. Be mindful of our surroundings so that the kids can emulate us. Only then are we able to secure the minds of the world leaders of tomorrow. Our only hope for a brighter future ahead.

Hailed by critics as “moving and illuminating” (A.O. The documentary paints a portrait of a man whom we think we know, as it takes us beyond the zip-up cardigans and the Neighborhood of Make-Believe, and into the heart of the remarkable man who continues to enrich American homes with lessons about love and humanity.

For over thirty years, Fred Rogers, an unassuming minister, puppeteer, writer and producer was beamed daily into homes across America in his beloved television program, Mister Rogers’ Neighborhood. From Academy Award-winning filmmaker Morgan Neville (20 Feet from Stardom), Won’t You Be My Neighbor? takes an intimate look at Fred Rogers, a creative genius who inspired generations of children with compassion and limitless imagination. There hadn’t been anything like Mister Rogers on television before and there hasn’t been since.

Kevin Price, Host of the Price of Business radio show and Editor in Chief at US Daily Review watched the movie. “This is a powerful film that clearly teaches the importance of children discovering they are valuable, no matter what. I was a little too old to become a fan of this show growing up because of when it was aired in my area. I wish I had seen it instead of all the violent cartoons that were packaged as entertainment. Later I discovered how important of a person Rogers is to others, and how was an anchor to many children living in a turbulent world,” Price said. He continued,”Everyone, including those who never seen the show because they were too old or young, could benefit from this important picture.”

By Dave Smith, Contributor, US Daily Review.

“It’s risky, but it’s worth a try…” – Qi’ra (Emilia Clarke)

Making a back-story movie about one of cinema’s most beloved characters was indeed risky: Han Solo, as previously portrayed by Harrison Ford in the Star Wars saga, is an icon, and star power is hard to replicate. But, buoyed by the success of the first stand-alone movie from the Star Wars “universe”, 2016’s Rogue One, Lucasfilm Ltd. (now owned by Disney) gave the go-ahead to the next “Star Wars Story” about the scoundrelly smuggler. The result is Solo: A Star Wars Story.

The results are mixed.

The movie is a fun, action-filled jaunt. Part science fiction, part classic heist film, Solo is fast-paced and features interesting characters old and new, with a very talented cast. Woody Harrelson plays Tobias Beckett, a cynical, veteran thief and smuggler who becomes a mentor of sorts to Han. The beautiful Emilia Clarke – best known as Daenerys Targaryen on TV’s Game of Thrones – plays Solo’s love interest and co-conspirator Qi’ra. Thandie Newton has some good scenes as a world-weary companion of Beckett. And we get to meet the young Lando Calrissian, played with suave aplomb by Donald Glover.

The opening narrative explains that with the rise of the Empire, crime syndicates are still powerful. The plot opens with Han escaping the slums of his home planet Corellia to join the Imperial Navy and become a pilot, but, unsurprising given Han’s lack of appreciation for authority, he ends up in the infantry (not all of whom are stormtroopers, we learn) and then thrown in a pit to be eaten by “the beast”.

In typical Han Solo fashion, he escapes, makes a new friend named Chewbacca, and thus begins the heist portion of the movie. Along the way he encounters a space yacht, a crime baron with a shadowy overlord, Qi’ra again, and a mysterious marauder named Enfys Nest (Erin Kellyman). Of course, being a Star Wars movie, Solo features a droid character, but like Rogue One’s K-2SO, Lando’s copilot, the social justice warrior L3-37, is a positive addition to the story.

Like any good heist movie, there are some twists, turns, and surprises. The action scenes are tightly filmed and paced, and the characters under Ron Howard’s direction are interesting and well-acted.

There’s only one problem, and it’s nobody’s fault: nobody in the movie is named “Harrison Ford”. The problem with taking on the role of any iconic character, much less one of the most iconic in cinematic history, is that it’s nearly impossible to live up to the original. Alden Ehrenreich has been the subject of much criticism for his portrayal of Han Solo, and I think some of it is undeserved. If the character were named “John Jones” or anything other than “Han Solo”, this movie would be much better received on its own merits. Ehrenreich adeptly plays a street hustler who’s accustomed to talking his way into – and out of – tough situations. But this isn’t just any character, it’s Han Solo. Harrison Ford demonstrated with his screen time in The Force Awakens that he’s still a super star – a leading man among leading men. Ehrenreich simply doesn’t fit the bill.

Overall, the movie is still fun to watch. Fans of the Star Wars universe will find much to like in the movie, as will fans of the action-heist genre. The film was a risk, and only time – and the box office receipts – will tell if the risk was worth the reward.

An independent, single mother who owns a small hotel on an idyllic Greek island, Donna (Streep) is about to let go of Sophie (Amanda Seyfried), the spirited daughter she’s raised alone. For Sophie’s wedding, Donna has invited her two lifelong best girlfriends—practical and no-nonsense Rosie (Julie Walters) and wealthy, multi-divorcee Tanya (Christine Baranski)—from her one-time backing band, Donna and the Dynamos. But Sophie has secretly invited three guests of her own.

On a quest to find the identity of her father to walk her down the aisle, she brings back three men from Donna’s past to the Mediterranean paradise they visited 20 years earlier. Over 24 chaotic, magical hours, new love will bloom and old romances will be rekindled on this lush island full of possibilities.

Inspired by the storytelling magic of ABBA’s songs from “Dancing Queen” and “S.O.S.” to “Money, Money, Money” and “Take a Chance on Me,” Mamma Mia! is a celebration of mothers and daughters, old friends and new family found.

Many remember back in 2003, turning on their TV and seeing the bizarre story of the pizza delivery guy with a bomb around his neck. He warned police it was going to go off at any moment. He was not lying.

The incident, in Eerie, Pennsylvania is considered the most unusual crime in the history of the area. One of the FBI agents involved called it the weirdest case in the history of the agency. It embodies the idea of “fact being stranger than fiction.”

The truth behind an extraordinary criminal case, known as the “pizza bomber heist,” is brought to light in the four-part original documentary series from Netflix called Evil Genius: The True Story of America’s Most Diabolical Bank Heist, from executive producers Mark and Jay Duplass. These now very famous brothers were the force behind the very popular Netflix series, Wild Wild Country. Their involvement in Evil Genius only heightens the interest in the series.

RELATED: The Best True Crime Documentaries on Netflix (2018)

In a statement, Netflix sets the stage for the series: “In 2003 in Erie, Pennsylvania, a robbery gone wrong and a terrifying public murder capture the nation’s attention, and a bizarre collection of Midwestern hoarders, outcasts, and lawbreakers play cat-and-mouse with the FBI. Eventually, a middle-aged mastermind named Marjorie Diehl-Armstrong — once a town beauty, now a woman grappling with mental illness — is arrested. But 15 years later, Evil Genius proves there’s more to the conspiracy and murders than was ever thought.”

The series has “binge viewing” written all over it.

Hagens Berman Sobol Shapiro LLP is investigating breach of fiduciary duty claims against the directors and officers of The Weinstein Company Holdings LLC (“TWC”) involving the potential failure to act and cover-up of sexual harassment and assault allegations directed at Harvey Weinstein.

If you are an investor in The Weinstein Company Holdings LLC or its affiliated companies (“TWC”) and suspect that your investment and TWC has been damaged by the failure of the officers and directors to act in the best interests of TWC, contact Hagens Berman Sobol Shapiro LLP. For more information visit: https://www.hbsslaw.com/cases/TWC.

Our initial investigation indicates that TWC’s officers and board of directors may have been aware of the allegations against Harvey Weinstein for many years, but have failed to act out of loyalty to Mr. Weinstein as opposed to TWC. One media source, TMZ, reports that the directors approved a 2015 contract that that contemplated future sexual harassment or assault allegations against Harvey Weinstein, and his opportunity to cure allegations of such conduct by paying a modest fine to the company.

News sources also report that TWC was able to hide this alleged conduct by threatening the strict enforcement of contracts prohibiting employees and victims from speaking.

“This story churns our stomachs. The only way to stop rampant sexual harassment and assault in the corporate environment, and in the entertainment industry in particular, is for shareholders to hold the officers and directors personally liability for the sustained or systematic failure to exercise oversight against this conduct,” said Hagens Bermanpartner Reed Kathrein. “Red flags were allegedly waived in the faces of the Weinstein Company’s Board for many years, and they not only ignored them, but reportedly knew about the payment of hush money. This is not legitimate business judgment to which the courts must defer. Harvey Weinstein’s alleged conduct has irreparably hurt the company and its shareholders.”
