Host Kevin Price interviews attorney Lee Kaplan to discuss government overreach, federal immigration enforcement, and political developments.

Law Firm Introduction: Lee Kaplan introduces his litigation firm, Murphy Ball Stratton (mbs-smartlaw.com), highlighting their work in litigation, arbitration, appeals, and mediations.

The newly struck U.S.-Denmark-Greenland security agreement reshapes Arctic geopolitics, cementing American military influence while navigating complex diplomatic boundaries.

Key Provisions of the Deal

Preservation of Sovereignty: The agreement explicitly recognizes the territorial integrity of Denmark and upholds the Greenlandic people’s right to self-determination. It fundamentally shifts away from previous threats of forced acquisition or annexation, ensuring that future cooperation is based on mutual consent.

Permanent U.S. Military Access: The United States secures unilateral, permanent rights for military basing, operations, and overflights. Under this framework, the U.S. can construct new military installations without needing to seek case-by-case approval from Copenhagen or Nuuk.

Adversary Veto Power: A strict screening mechanism bans non-NATO nations from building infrastructure or investing in sensitive sectors. This provision directly targets and blocks Arctic expansion efforts from China and Russia.

Future-Proof Security: The security and basing rights are structured to remain legally binding and valid even if Greenland eventually votes to become a fully independent nation.

Strategic Wins and Losses

The Wins:

Arctic Dominance: The U.S. locks in long-term containment of Russian and Chinese ambitions in a vital strategic corridor.

Unhindered Expansion: Deeper integration at Pituffik Space Base and new sites can proceed without bureaucratic delays.

Diplomatic Goodwill: Securing a deal through formal diplomacy repairs relationships with key Nordic allies.

The Losses:

End of Acquisition Ambitions: The explicit recognition of sovereignty permanently ends any U.S. ambitions of outright purchasing or annexing the resource-rich island.

Dependency on Local Ratification: The agreement remains subject to parliamentary approval in Denmark and Greenland, leaving it vulnerable to local political shifts before it takes effect.

In this segment of The Price of Business, host Kevin Price speaks with media insider and PR expert Jeremy Murphy about Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s shifting public standing and their rumored return to London. Murphy argues that the couple’s popularity in the U.S. has severely eroded due to failed commercial ventures—including declining deals with platforms like Spotify and Netflix—and a growing perception of hypocrisy, famously satirized by South Park’s “Worldwide Privacy Tour.” They discuss allegations of internal staff friction, Markle’s low UK approval ratings, and canceled acting opportunities, including a rumored role in Guy Ritchie’s The Gentlemen. Murphy speculates that their desire to mend relations with King Charles III before his eventual passing may be driven by both financial survival and legal concerns regarding child custody in the event of a potential divorce.

According to a statement, “Jeremy Murphy is a sarcastic, embittered veteran of the media industry. Founder of 360bespoke, a respected boutique PR agency in New York, Murphy handles a full roster of clients in the lifestyle, beauty, fashion, and start-up fields. Previously, he was Vice President of Communications at CBS, where he worked for 14 years. There, he oversaw PR for many of its divisions and created its glossy magazine Watch. Murphy started as a journalist, working with Knight Ridder newspapers and Mediaweek. He is a graduate of Florida Atlantic University and lives in New York with his cat, Champers.”

On a recent Price of Business show, Host Kevin Price interviewed Andy Esser, Financial Advisor at Edward Jones.

They discussed the new research from Edward Jones and Morning Consult showing Americans remain committed to saving for education but feel increasingly uncertain about how to pay for it. As many say they’re not saving enough and are balancing competing financial priorities – there is a growing gap between families’ goals and their preparedness. Even though there is an increased awareness of the flexibility of 529 educations savings plans, many families still don’t fully understand how to use them. Andy’s insights focused on practical steps to build confidence and create a clear savings strategy.

The Wealthy Bastion: G7 Perspective

GDP Profile: Holds $55.3T Nominal GDP, but falls behind in Purchasing Power Parity (PPP) at $54.1T (29.9% global share).

Economic Leverage: Commands primary reserve currencies (USD/Euro), providing immense financial leverage and sanctions power.

Geopolitical Goal: Preserves the post-WWII “rules-based international order” centered in Western institutions.

The “Hot Seat” in Washington D.C. has officially reached a fever pitch. On March 5, 2026, President Trump shattered the relative stability of his early second term by firing Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem. Her swift replacement by Oklahoma Senator Markwayne Mullin—and her subsequent “demotion” to a Special Envoy role—has sent a clear message to the administration: no one is safe.

While political pundits analyze the optics, the real action is happening in the desert. Prediction markets like Kalshi and Polymarket have seen a massive surge in volume as gamblers wager millions on who will be the next official to receive the “You’re Fired” treatment. This isn’t just speculation; it is a high-stakes financial map of internal White House friction.

Here is the current “Odds-on-Exit” leaderboard as of March 9, 2026:

Kash Patel (FBI Director)

Probability: 52% to 56%

Market Payout: Trading at 48¢ on Kalshi (Potential 2.08x return).

The Catalyst: Patel is currently the betting favorite for an exit. The “smart money” is reacting to a recent Inspector General inquiry into his alleged use of FBI aircraft for personal travel. Furthermore, sources suggest the Oval Office was “livid” after Patel made several premature announcements regarding high-profile arrests that were not yet authorized for public release.

Amy Gleason (Acting DOGE Administrator)

Probability: 54% to 63%

Market Payout: Approximately 1.76x return.

The Catalyst: Gleason’s position has been precarious since the departure of Elon Musk. As the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) undergoes a structural “re-alignment,” bettors believe Gleason lacks the political shield necessary to survive the reorganization. She is currently tied with Patel for the highest immediate exit probability.

Pam Bondi (Attorney General)

Probability: 49% to 56%

Market Payout: Approximately 1.97x return.

The Catalyst: Bondi has been a lightning rod for controversy regarding her handling of the “Epstein Files” and ongoing disputes with career DOJ officials. Gamblers are betting that the President may look for a “fresher face” to lead his legal agenda as the administration enters its next phase.

Tulsi Gabbard (Director of National Intelligence)

Probability: 47%

Market Payout: Buying “Yes” at 53¢ on Polymarket (Potential 1.88x payout).

The Catalyst: Despite her popularity with the base, Gabbard is rumored to be at odds with the national security “inner circle.” Prediction markets reflect a growing belief that her isolationist tendencies are clashing with the more hawkish maneuvers currently being executed in the Middle East.

Pete Hegseth (Secretary of War)

Probability: 29%

Market Payout: Buying “Yes” at 30¢ on Polymarket (Potential 3.33x payout).

The Catalyst: Interestingly, despite the humiliating “Harm” rating recently issued by Republican aides, Hegseth’s exit odds remain relatively low. Bettors believe his central role in Operation Epic Fury makes him “too essential to fire” during an active military campaign, making him a “long-shot” for an immediate exit.

The Noem firing proved that in this administration, loyalty is measured daily. As the “Friday Night Reorganizations” become a staple of the 2026 political landscape, Vegas remains the most honest barometer of who stays and who goes.

The current military campaign against Iran, which has now escalated into full-scale conflict, reveals a strategic mirror-image of the diplomatic and economic maneuvers of 1941. The parallels do not seem merely coincidental; they almost suggest a repeating historical script where “negotiation” serves as the final precursor to a predetermined kinetic conclusion.

The Mirror of the “Maximum” Mandate

In late 1941, the U.S. delivered the “Hull Note,” a proposal that demanded Japan’s complete and unconditional withdrawal from China and Indochina. To Tokyo, this was not a diplomatic opening but an ultimatum designed to be rejected. Fast forward to the February 2026 negotiations in Oman: the Trump administration’s “Twelve Demands”—including the total dismantling of facilities like Natanz and Fordow and the cessation of all regional proxy influence—represented an identical “maximalist” position. By demanding terms that would effectively require the Iranian regime to dismantle its own security architecture, the U.S. essentially ensured the failure of the talks it claimed to be pursuing.

Diplomacy as a Strategic “Check-the-Box”

Just as Japanese envoys Nomura and Kurusu were still meeting with Secretary of State Cordell Hull while the Kido Butai fleet was steaming toward Pearl Harbor, the 2026 escalation saw diplomacy and military preparation running on parallel tracks. Critics argue that the February talks were maintained primarily to establish a “diplomatic paper trail.” By remaining at the table until the final hours, the administration could claim it had “exhausted every peaceful avenue,” thereby sanitizing the massive strikes that began on February 28. More than this, as long as the US was at the table it gave Iran the impression that peace could still be established. This mirrors the “Day of Infamy” narrative, where the moral high ground is secured by portraying the enemy’s eventual response as an unprovoked betrayal of ongoing peace efforts.Furthermore, it provided a powerful element of surprise.

The Economic Noose

The 1941 oil embargo was the ultimate trigger, leaving Japan with a “use it or lose it” military timeline. The modern equivalent has been the absolute “zero-out” of Iranian oil exports and the freezing of central bank assets. In both cases, the U.S. utilized economic strangulation to force an adversary into a corner where “biting the cat” (as the Japanese proverb suggests) became the only perceived alternative to internal collapse.

The 2026 conflict is the culmination of this “back door to war” strategy—a clinical application of historical pressure points that has, once again, turned a diplomatic “process” into a launchpad for global instability.

Recently Kevin Price, Host of the nationally syndicated Price of Business Show, interviewed John D. O’Connor.

The Washinton Post is clearly failing, as its owner Jeff Bezos, beset by $100 million in annual losses, has laid off one third of its payroll and 40% of its journalists. But why?

The Post had vaulted to prominence when through its secret source Deep Throat, “broke” the Watergate scandal.

The Post had committed fraud by concealment in that scandal, but no one knew. Had it thereafter told the truth without fear or favor, as the world thought it had done in Watergate, it would be controlling the media today. It had rid our system of a conservative President-Nixon by lying-and sold a progressive-Obama, dishonestly. But the world was catching on, as the internet and talk radio pierced the media monopoly. The Post put all its chips on the anti-Trump line, and did so dishonestly. But unlike Watergate and the Iraq War, the public was not fooled. The Post has held itself out as a truth teller, but had told the public a most important lie, one about who it is. The Post has not been a truth teller, and the public saw to it that it failed.

Kevin Price introduces Price of Business show recurring guest, John D. O’Connor. O’Connor was the famed attorney of Watergate’s “Deep Throat.

According to PostGateBook.com “O’Connor served as an Assistant U.S. Attorney in Northern California from 1974-1979, representing the United States in both criminal and civil cases. Among his interesting assignments have been representation of the government during the OPEC oil embargo of the 1970s; writing Fifth Amendment and “state of mind” briefs for the prosecution in United States v. Patricia Hearst; representing the FDIC, FSLC and RTC during the savings and loan crisis of the late 1980s and early 1990s; representing California Attorney General Dan Lungren in campaign-related litigation; defending R.J. Reynolds Tobacco in significant smoking and health litigation; representing Coach Don Nelson in litigation with Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban; and representing W. Mark Felt regarding the revelation of his identity as Deep Throat.”
