LG Electronics USA today announced a unique new partnership with Share Our Strength’s No Kid Hungry campaign to help end childhood hunger and educate families about healthy cooking and eating  habits.

Many families struggle to put food on the table and one in five kids in America doesn’t get the food they need every day. As a brand that is dedicated to bringing families together in the kitchen and making it easy to put healthy and delicious meals on the table, LG is broadening its mission to help make this possible for all families, in all walks of life. Together with No Kid Hungry, LG will work to ensure that every child in the country has access to healthy food where they live, learn and  play.

“In our country, 16 million children struggle with hunger.  But they aren’t hungry because of a lack of food or programs – they are often hungry because of a lack of access to food,” said Debbie Shore, co-founder of Share Our Strength. “LG is a brand that holds family mealtime at the core of its values. Together, LG and No Kid Hungry can make sure more kids across the country are getting the healthy meals they need, every day. Together, we can end childhood hunger in  America.”

In addition to being a premier national partner of No Kid Hungry, LG has been named the official home appliance sponsor of Taste of the Nation, the premier culinary fundraiser series for No Kid Hungry, which brings together the nation’s top chefs, mixologists and tastemakers across the  country.

LG will be participating in the most high-profile Taste of the Nation events, starting today in the nation’s capital.  The Taste of the Nation events will feature LG’s Black Stainless Steel Series of refrigerators, ranges, dishwashers and microwaves. The new kitchen suite not only incorporates beautiful design, with a warmer, satin-smooth and fingerprint-resistant black stainless steel finish, but also offers a number of innovations that make it easier than ever for families to cook together in the kitchen. For example, LG’s Door-in-Door® compartment is a magnetically-sealed section of the door that allows access to often-used foods without opening the entire refrigerator, making it convenient – even for kids – to grab ingredients during meal  preparation.

LG will participate in the following Taste of the Nation events throughout  2016:

  • Washington D.C.April 4
  • New York CityApril 25
  • Los AngelesJune 5
  • MiamiJune 17
  • ChicagoOctober 11

“LG home appliances are all about bringing consumers Innovation for a Better Life, and we know so much more is needed to ensure children have access to healthy meals,” said David VanderWaal, vice president of marketing, LG Electronics USA. “Together, with No Kid Hungry, we are pledging to work towards a future where every family in the U.S. can put delicious and nutritious meals on the table, every  day.”
