Liam Neeson’s Love/Hate Relationship with Guns

Actor Liam Neeson has a problem with the number of guns in America, while movies he stars in are littered with gun violence committed primarily by him.
In an interview this week, Neeson was asked about the Paris terrorist attacks. After a perfunctory denunciation of terrorism, he turned to the proliferation of guns:

“There’s too many [expletive] guns out there,” he continued. “Especially in America. I think the population is like, 320 million? There’s over 300 million guns. Privately owned, in America. I think it’s a [expletive] disgrace.”

While Neeson feigns outrage over guns today, he has a long history of using guns throughout his long acting career. When he was interviewed for his 2006 film Seraphim Falls, he even remarked that firing a gun “was cool.”
