As students return to school, participating McDonald’s restaurants throughoutCalifornia are helping kick-start their year with breakfast. On Tuesday, Sept. 15, participating restaurants will offer free breakfast from 6:30-9:30 a.m. to students in kindergarten through eighth grade. In Southern California, students can enjoy any breakfast sandwich, apple slices or Yoplait Go-Gurt low-fat strawberry yogurt, and milk. Students younger than 13 years of age are required to be accompanied by a parent/adult to redeem this offer at participating McDonald’s restaurants. Offer may vary throughout the state. One breakfast per  student.

“McDonald’s is strongly committed to the well-being of children, and to mark the beginning of the new school year, we are excited to provide students a free breakfast meal to help them start their day off right,” said Clay Paschen, III, McDonald’s owner-operator and president of the McDonald’s Operators’ Association of Southern California (MOASC). “At McDonald’s, we support parents in encouraging their children to eat a hearty breakfast every day, and we think our breakfast muffin sandwiches are a great-tasting option with fresh, healthy ingredients that children are sure to  enjoy.”

Forty years ago the late Central Coast McDonald’s owner-operator Herb Peterson revolutionized the American breakfast menu with the introduction of the Egg McMuffin sandwich. Today, breakfast at McDonald’s continues to evolve with a variety of choices including the Egg White Delight McMuffin® breakfast sandwich, Fruit & Maple Oatmeal and Fruit N’ Yogurt Parfait, among other choices.
