Recently Republican State Leadership Committee (RSLC) President Chris Jankowski, on behalf of the Republican Attorneys General Association (RAGA), issued the following statement after Montana Attorney General Tim Fox’s refusal of an Associated Press request for personal information about gun owners:

“General Tim Fox should be commended by every American who believes in states’ rights, the second amendment and personal privacy for refusing the request by The Associated Press to release names, addresses and drivers license numbers for every Montanan who owns a concealed weapon permit.  Democratic state attorneys general – who advocate for a larger, more invasive federal government – may allow such organizations to bully them around, but not General Fox.  Hats off to him for refusing to back down on behalf of Montana.”

The Republican Attorneys General Association (RAGA) is the only national organization whose mission is electing Republicans to the Office of Attorney General. RAGA concentrates on recruiting outstanding candidates, providing them with research and financial support, as well as assisting in message development. In doing so, RAGA is improving the talent base from which many future governors and U.S. Senators will be drawn.
