Sirius XM to Cover both the DNC and RNC Coming up This Month

By SiriusXM, Special for  USDR

SiriusXM announced today its comprehensive live coverage of the Republican and Democratic National Conventions as well as a wide-variety of political programming across a broad-range of its news, talk and entertainment  channels.

“SiriusXM’s coverage of the 2016 political conventions will be broad, diverse, and unmatched in the audio space,” said Scott Greenstein, SiriusXM President and Chief Content Officer.  “Regardless of political persuasion, SiriusXM listeners will have choices like never before to hear every minute of each convention along with sharp political analysis and opinion across an unprecedented number of channels on our  platform.”

Beginning Monday, July 18th for the Republican National Convention and Monday, July 25th for the Democratic National Convention, SiriusXM will transform its non-partisan P.O.T.U.S. (Politics of The United States) channel into “Convention Radio” — featuring uninterrupted, gavel to gavel coverage from the convention floor.  P.O.T.U.S channel hosts including Tim Farley, Michael Smerconish, Julie Mason, Michael Steele, and Rick Ungar will broadcast from each convention city, with White House Correspondent Jared Rizzi reporting live from the convention floor.  “Convention Radio” will also feature special programming with key news, politics, and entertainment brands including Olivier Knox from Yahoo News; Variety; Politico; The Wall Street Journal; The Hill; Real Clear Politics, and a special with the hosts of the new SHOWTIME series The Circus: Inside The Greatest Political Show on Earth.  The weekend before the opening gavel in Cleveland and Philadelphia, P.O.T.U.S. will present “Prelude to The Convention,” featuring historic moments from past conventions, expert analysis on convention rules and protocol, a preview of the week ahead, and special panel  discussions.

On Friday, July 15th at 1 pm ET, P.O.T.U.S. also broadcasts the first of a special six-show series with former New York City Police Commissioner Ray Kelly.  Kelly’s premiere episode will focus on “Securing a Convention.”  As NYC Police Commissioner, Kelly was responsible for the security preparations in New York for the 2004 Republican National  Convention.

Convention Radio in each city is joined by a wide-ranging suite of content including special coverage on SiriusXM news channels including CNN, Fox News, Fox News Headlines 24/7, MSNBC, NPR, and exclusive programming from SiriusXM original channels  including:
