Walmart, America's largest seller of toys, teamed up with the experts in toys – kids – to announce its annual holiday top toy list today. Walmart brought together 1,000 kids ages 18 months to 10 years to test, play with, and help select the top toys for the season. Timed with the “Chosen by Kids” top toy list unveiling, Walmart has rolled back prices on hundreds of dolls, action figures, ride-on toys and more.
Walmart's “Chosen by Kids” top toys list features newcomers and classic favorites. New toys topping the list include the VTech Go! Go! Smart Wheels Train Station Playset, Sofia the First Talking Doll and Animal Friends and the Flutterbye Flying Fairy Doll. When it comes to the classics, the Barbie Dreamhouse is expected to be a favorite among girls, marking the fifth straight year a Barbie product has landed on Walmart's top toy list. A Furby product made the list for the second consecutive year. And, Elmo returns to the list with the new Big Hugs toy.
“We are taking the guesswork out of customers' holiday toy shopping by turning to kids to tell us what the real top toys are,” said Scott McCall, senior vice president of toys and seasonal at Walmart U.S. “Kids told us they want interactive toys as well as classic brands. After hearing this feedback, we did what we do best. We made price investments to offer absolutely great savings on these holiday toys and more for our customers.”
