IMAX Corporation, Paramount Pictures, a division of Viacom, Inc. (NASDAQ: VIAB), and Skydance Productions announced that Paramount and J.J. Abrams ‘ Star Trek Into Darkness has grossed an estimated$13.6 million domestically for the weekend in 336 North American IMAX® 3D theatres. Of the film’s 20 highest-grossing domestic engagements since it debuted in North America on Wednesday, May 15, 17 of them featured an IMAX screen. In addition, to date, the film has grossed approximately $20 million in IMAX theatres worldwide.

The IMAX release of Star Trek Into Darkness features approximately 30 minutes of footage filmed with the extremely high-resolution IMAX® cameras. These specific sequences expand to fill more of the screen exclusively in IMAX, delivering unprecedented crispness and clarity and a truly immersive experience for moviegoers.
