Controversial Swimmer, Ryan Lochte, Actually Picks Up Endorsement Deal

By Pine Bros., Special for  USDR

Pine Bros. Softish Throat Drops has signed a new endorsement deal with swimmer and Olympic gold medalist Ryan Lochte. Lochte has agreed to appear in a commercial and print ads for Pine Bros., the iconic brand which has been soothing sore throats for over 140  years.

Lochte will be appearing in a series of print ads and a commercial that states: “Pine Brothers Softish Throat Drops: Forgiving On Your Throat.” The ads will be shot in Los Angeles over the next few  weeks.

Pine Bros. CEO Rider McDowell reached out to Lochte after last week’s incident, and asked the public to be a little more understanding—even forgiving—of the young American  swimmer.

“We all make mistakes, but they’re rarely given front-page scrutiny. He’s a great guy who has done incredible work with charities. I’m confident that Pine Bros. fans will support our decision to give Ryan a second  chance.”

In recent double-blind clinical studies, Pine Bros. was ranked No. 1 in Throat Coating Action versus the other leading brands. With its special formula of plant glycerin, imported gum acacia and natural flavors, Pine. Bros. has a unique ability to coat a sore  throat.

Pine Bros. Softish Throat Drops were created in 1870 in Philadelphia by Herman J. Pine. Famous for their soft drop consistency and unique throat-coating abilities, the drops have been in production ever since. Elvis Presley was a well-known Pine Bros. enthusiast, as were (we’ve been told) Caruso, Eleanor Roosevelt and President John F. Kennedy, Jr. The Pine Bros. company was acquired by current owner Three Sisters Home Products in 2005, and its CEOs Victoria Knight-McDowell and Rider McDowell, creators of the popular Airborne Formula. Pine Bros. Softish Throat Drops are the #1 selling throat drop at and can be found at CVS, Target, Wal-Mart and other fine stores across the  country.
