True the Vote, a national nonpartisan, nonprofit grassroots organization focused on preserving election integrity, has joined forces with citizens from Wisconsin and around the country in an unprecedented effort; banding together to recruit, train, and mobilize Election Observers for Wisconsin’s June 5th Recall Election.

True the Vote will also sponsor command centers in key areas across Wisconsin to provide support for Election Observers on Tuesday, June 5th.

Republican hero Scott Walker (R-WI) is in the fight of his political life.

“It is an honor and a privilege to work alongside the citizen volunteers who are mobilizing to protect election integrity in Wisconsin and across our great nation,” said Catherine Engelbrecht, president and founder of True the Vote.

“Our system relies on a healthy system of checks and balances. When the government is not accountable to the people, it becomes incumbent upon the people to stand in the gap of government and do what we must to ensure due process,” said Engelbrecht, noting that it is only the third time in history that a U.S. governor was recalled in an election.

“It was so gratifying to see 17,000 citizens from across the country step up to help verify the signatures collected in the recall petition.  Now Wisconsin citizens are following through with their commitment to a fair election process by contributing their time and talents to serve as Election Observers on Tuesday,” she said.

Last week, True the Vote held Election Observer training seminars in nine locations across Wisconsin, then expanded their training efforts to include online webinars. Hundreds of volunteer Election Observers were trained in anticipation of Tuesday’s election.
