Leading Business Authority Answers Listeners Questions on Navigating Tariffs

INTERVIEW ON THE PRICE OF BUSINESS SHOW, MEDIA PARTNER OF THIS SITE.

Recently Kevin Price, Host of the nationally syndicated Price of Business Show, interviewed Joseph Meuse.

On a recent Price of Business, Host Kevin Price interviewed Joseph Meuse of.BusinessGPSLLC.com. Meuse is one of the country’s leading business authorities and is an expert  on problem solving.

Listeners have been asking many questions on how to navigate the challenges that come with tariffs, or even the mere threat of tariffs. Here are two examples.

What are some practical ways businesses can protect their cash flow when tariffs drive up costs unexpectedly?

Meuse notes “You should always have a backup plan for any element of the business that puts it at risk. The positive “can do” attitude of a business owner needs to pivot to consistently doing risk analysis. You should also market your product as made in the USA – to maintain and increase revenue. Make sure all products don’t depend on the same vendors. Diversify. Also focus on products that were not impacted by tariffs.

How can companies prepare for supply chain disruptions caused by shifting trade policies or new tariffs?

Meuse says business owners need to “have multiple vendors ready to supply them. Frankly, relying on one vendor typically does not give you the best price. It’s ok to buy the same thing from 2-3 vendors (smaller orders with each) to make sure you have the inventory you need. If you do this, you may be the only one able to supply the products when your competitors can’t because they were not prepared. This is an excellent example of where a crisis creates great opportunity.

After yearson Wall Street, Joseph Meuse created Business GPS because he was looking to use his experience and business acumen to help struggling businesses. Enter COVID-19, and his company is helping hundreds of businesses get government loans, decrease their commercial rental payments, negotiate their loans to better terms – all on contingency.  It is a unique business model, where Business GPS gets paid at the end of the process.
A serial entrepreneur over the past 30 years, Mr. Meuse has started and built over a dozen successful businesses and in the process has also helped thousands of other US companies execute on their business plans. Sectors of experience span financial services, investment banking, accounting and finance, IT, business consulting and legal services, giving Joe a broad perspective on best business practices and how they can be most effectively transferred across categories.  As a thought leader in business transformation and financial management, Mr. Meuse has been a regular contributor on TV and radio, including CNN, CNBC and Fox.
