US Senate candidate Ted Cruz was on the Price of Business to discuss what he believes is needed in the US Senate today. The US Senator is given unique authority that can force the political process to catch its breath before making bad bills into laws. One of the most important, yet under utilized, is the filibuster. This Senate procedure allows a member of that body to bring the legislative process to a halt in order to stop legislation from going forward without a super majority to end it. This has been rarely used by members, but has started to gain steam by several new members, largely under the leadership of Jim Demint (R-SC). Ted Cruz says that Americans need more leaders such as this and he plans on being one of them.
