Some Sinister Logic in President Obama’s Anti-ISIS Manifesto

President Obama Rallies the Arab World Under the Banner of “Remembering Ferguson”

On September 25, President Obama delivered to the United Nations Security Council a speech designed to win united action against the several Islamic-terrorist armies that are presently tearing up the borders of Syria and Iraq and threatening to obliterate all the neighboring regimes.

The New York Times noted that, a few paragraphs into his speech,

as he has in previous speeches to this international audience, [Obama] acknowledged that the United States is wrestling with its own demons when it comes to racial and ethnic tensions. “In a summer marked by instability in the Middle East and Eastern Europe” [Obama said], I know the world also took notice of the small American city of Ferguson, Mo., where a young man was killed, and a community was divided,” he said.

What possible connection could there be between that incident in that small American city and the cause being pursued by the Islamic State? Islamic State/ISIS/ISIL/IS is only the most recent of an ever-ramifying thicket of Islamic-terrorist organizations, funded by the same rich Arabs who control the governments of the Middle East. Over recent weeks, IS has been stirring up the bloodlust inborn among Muslims everywhere with its promise to overthrow all the governments of the world for the sake of establishing the Umma, the global regime governed by the will of Allah. As for the Arab governments of the world, the crime for which IS says that they deserve to be overthrown and their heretic princes beheaded, is that they have gone soft on the duty that Muhammad bequeathed to all Muslims – to wipe the Jews, the sons of Pigs and Monkeys, as Muhammad called them, from the face of the earth. According to this “thinking”, the current obstacle to completion of this task is an anti-Islamic alliance led by the United States (an instrument of Satan) and the Jews.

Rather than dumping, before the whole world, on that policeman in Missouri, now cowering under threat of lynching, why did the President of the United States not seize the moment to urge the Muslim powers, once and for all, to discontinue their ceaseless challenge to Israel’s right to exist — thus clearing the ground for open alliance with the only democracy in the Middle East in the cause of the hour: tracking down and eliminating the engines of terrorism?

Back to Obama’s “New Beginning”

For the answer to these and other questions we go back to the speech that President Obama made in June of 2009 at Al-Azhar University in Cairo (described in reference sources as “the foremost centre of Arabic literature and Islamic learning in the world.”) There he groveled before every Muslim in the world, spelling out the responsibility of European imperialism for everything that makes it impossible for Muslims to live in tranquility with each other and in happy comity with the rest of the world, while rhapsodizing about the magnificent accomplishments of Islamic civilization.

I’ve come here to Cairo to seek a new beginning between the United States and Muslim around the world, one based on mutual interest and mutual respect, and one based upon the truth that America and Islam are not exclusive and need not be in competition. Instead, they overlap, and share common principles – principles of justice and progress, tolerance and the dignity of human beings…… Recently, tension has been fed by colonialism that denied rights and opportunities to many Muslims, and a Cold War in which Muslim-majority countries were too often treated as proxies …. Violent extremists have exploited these tensions in a small but potent minority of Muslims.

Last week, speaking before the UN Security Council, Obama refreshed his resolve never to address the responsibility of Islam for any of the failings of people governed under Islam, by drawing the attention of the world to a story that permits non-Americans everywhere in the world opportunity to condemn the United States for the sin of racism, while offering plenary indulgence for the behavior of a potential lynch-mob in Missouri .

What is the source of this screwy logic? Like every other person who has any kind of authority in our midst , Barack Obama has taken Sociology 101 – and therefore knows that none of us belongs to what he belongs to; the corollary to this being that in order to confirm his credentials as an intellectual he must at intervals throw our civilization under the bus. By raising that business in Missouri, and simply positing that it was all about white-racial crime against a harmless black youngster — one who, as he said about a similar character in a similar episode, “could have been my own son” – he has again jumped up and down on all the fundamental rules that are supposed to govern judicial procedure in the best part of the world –the part that we belong to (for the time being), the part that derives its judicial procedures from English common law.

Although an officer of the law, and one who was pretending to teach constitutional law in an American University when the politicians discovered him, he has recently put himself in company with the CNN vigilantes and their standby cohort of celebrity Black “Civil Rights preachers” (Jesse Jackson, Al Sharpton et. al.) and has rallied a virtual lynch-mob chanting the familiar tropes about pigs. By raising these slogans before the world he has utterly spoiled all possibility of a fair trial – as he must know. And to what end? To provide opportunity for the United Sates to crawl before the princes of the Arab world.

The Anti-IS Alliance

As I write, President Obama is directing, under U.S Central Command a combination of air-forces provided by the UK, Holland, Belgium and Denmark, Canada, Australia and others still to be recruited — plus five “moderate Sunni Arab allies” — namely the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Bahrain, and Qatar.

It is to win the applause of the leaders of these “moderate “Arab states” that Obama included that paragraph about the recent incident in “the small American city of Ferguson, Mo., where a young man was killed, and a community was divided.” It is a crazy kind of logic! After all, Arab Emirates (UAE), Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Bahrain, and Qatar are all places where young men – some of thempresumed to be involved in criminal activity, some of them guilty of speaking out loud against their princes, some of them just guilty of looking dangerous — are picked up in job-lots in the middle of every night and imprisoned without charge and without notice to their families, for as long as suits the whim of the unelected dictator/king who rules their lives.

Would it be poor form to note that Saudi Arabia is reckoned by Freedom House as among the ten worst offenders in the world against human rights, and that the others all follow close behind? (http://freedomhouse.org/report/freedom-world/freedom-world-2014.) Indeed, all Arab states everywhere fall way below minimal standards for exercise of basic freedoms. For example: in Saudi Arabia, “just in the course of two weeks last month, Saudi Arabia executed as many as 22 people. At least eight of those executed were beheaded… It appears that the majority of those executed in August were guilty of nonlethal crimes, including drug trafficking, adultery, apostasy and “sorcery.” (“Saudi Arabia, key to Obama’s strategy, beheaded at least 8 people last month,” Washington Post, September 11, 2014.) Whatever else may motivate member states in joining the anti-IS coalition, advancement of the cause of liberty, freedom, democracy, or freedom of conscience is not on anyone’s programme.

The historian Andrew Bostom has challenged the label “moderate Muslim,” in connection with this gang of “Shariah-supremacist” regimes. (Andrew Bostom, “ ‘Air-Sharia’: ‘Moderate’ UAE, U.S. ‘Anti-IS Ally’ and Its Worldview.http://www.pjmedia.com/tattler, September 23, 2014.) Throughout this entire “moderate” zone, Bostom notes, Islam is the only officially-tolerated religion. There is no protection under law for women, no freedom of speech or political expression. Individuals who engage in consensual same-gender sexual conduct are subject to the death penalty. Criticism of the ruling elite, the formation of any political parties, and “whatever is deemed derogatory to Islam or supportive of Israeli government positions” are all severely punished under basic law.

All of these moderate states are publicly committed to the liquidation of every Jew on earth. Leading preachers explain that the existence of the present Zionist State has been providentially provided by Allah: If the Jews were scattered throughout the world, how could we find them in order to fight them?… Now Allah gathers them in this land. He brings them in groups from countries all over the world in order to fulfill Allah’s universal law: “Judgment Day will come when the Muslims fight the Jews, and the stone and the tree say, ‘Oh, Muslim, O servant of Allah, there is Jew behind me. Come and kill him.’”

Recruiting Terrorists to Fight Terrorists

Quite apart from the record of contempt for the United Nations Declaration of Human Rights among our “moderate Arab” allies in the anti-IS cause, there is the matter of their dealings with the various Islamist-terrorist organizations that began to came into the world long before al-Qaeda was born and that have proliferated geometrically since.

Commending his anti-IS project to the Arab world, Obama says:

The brutality of terrorists in Syria and Iraq forces us to look into the heart of darkness. [To meet this reality,] today I ask the world to join in this effort. We will not succumb to threats, and we will demonstrate that the future belongs to those who build, not those who destroy.” … In an echo of his speech to the Islamic world in 2009, [the New York Times notes], Mr. Obama addressed young Muslims directly, appealing to them to resist the blandishments of violent jihadist ideology. “You come from a great tradition that stands for education, not ignorance; innovation, not destruction; the dignity of life, not murder,” Mr. Obama said. “Those who call you away from this path are betraying this tradition, not defending it.”

Bashar Jaafari, the Syrian Ambassador to the United Nations may not be a reliable source on most matters of interest to us, but he certainly has a point when he says: “U.S. needs reliable allies. They do not need Saudi Arabia and Qatar and Turkey, because these regimes are the ones who funded terrorists in Syria and Iraq, and all over the area…. You cannot be a terrorist while fighting terrorists.” (“Syria’s Ruling Regime Liked Obama’s UN Speech – Except for One ‘Small Part,’”www.businessinsider.com, September 28, 20134.)

There is inescapable logic in Jaafari’s rule. We should take it to heart. We should do everything we can to save ourselves from Islam. An immediate implication of this principle would be that we are obliged to rescue Christians and other minorities under threat of forceful conversion or ejection or extinction in the Middle East; otherwise, the present remnant of Christians will be ejected from the Middle East as were all Jews from all Arab countries that followed the 1948 war.

A second principle is related to the first: We should do nothing withthe intention of saving Muslims from Muslims. Consequently we should not fall into the trap of distinguishing “moderates” from others, or engage in Machiavellian calculations tending towards assistance of one branch of Islam (Shia, Sunni, etc) against another. We have no dog in this race.
