The Price of Business Digital Network has a new series of outstanding commentaries from thought leaders. This is one in that series.
Astronaut, Engineer & Entrepreneur Sara Sabry
My name is Sara Sabry, and I am Egypt’s first Astronaut. I am the founder and CEO of Deep Space Initiative, a non-profit company that aims to increase accessibility and opportunity in the space field while enabling deep space exploration for all Humankind.
This year, I became the first Arab woman and the first woman from the African continent to go to space.
My educational journey has been unconventional, as I have always had broad interests. I try to explore beyond my comfort zone and go all in on the things that matter to me. My wide range of experiences spans from mechatronics and robotic surgery, to stem cell development and bioastronautics. Apart from entrepreneurship, I am also passionate about scientific research and believe it is key to innovation and solving real-world problems. That’s why – along with leading two companies, being a speaker, and advising a few space organizations – I am currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Aerospace Sciences with a focus on Planetary Spacesuits at the UND NASA-funded Humanspaceflight Lab.
