Lincoln Financial Group (NYSE: LNC) announced today that Karen Fowler-Williams, senior vice president of Employee Relations, has received Profiles in Diversity Journal’s 2015 Women Worth Watching® award in recognition of her passion, potential and positive influence inside and outside the workplace. The women highlighted in this year’s issue represent corporations, government agencies and nonprofits from across North America and Europe.

Fowler-Williams joined Lincoln Financial Group in 1989, and she has been an integral part of the company’s Human Resources leadership team, which is responsible for HR governance enterprise-wide. In her role, she oversees HR policy development, employee relations, Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) compliance and risk management, threat assessment, recognition, tuition reimbursement, and other employee programs.

As part of her submission for the award, Fowler-Williams advised others to “take the risky path not the safe one.”
The magazine’s annual September/October issue celebrates the achievements and personalities of 100 leading women executives, who are nominated by their colleagues, peers and mentors, for their initiative and achievements. To be considered for the award, nominees must hold a senior executive management position, sit on the board of directors, or report to the president or chief executive officer of the organization. Selection criteria also include demonstrating how they have distinguished themselves in their career or chosen field.
