State Sen. Deb Fischer came from behind Tuesday to clinch the hotly contested Republican nomination for Nebraska’s open U.S. Senate seat after a close race with Attorney General Jon Bruning.
Bruning, the once front-runner, conceded as Fischer’s lead appeared to hold steady at about 4 percent, with about 90 percent of precincts reporting, according to unofficial results from the Nebraska Secretary of State.
