New Book Makes Moral Case for Free Enterprise

By US Daily Review Staff.

Regnery Publishing recently announce that Father Robert Sirico’s newest book, Defending the Free Market: The Moral Case for a Free Economy has been listed in the Top 10 New Books for Summer Reading by Blaze Magazine!

The announcement comes in the midst of an election year when everything hinges on the economy and jobs, the highly anticipated U.S. Supreme Court ruling on Obamacare and a country still troubled by the Occupy Movement. Father Sirico, an unlikely defender of capitalism, demonstrates an excellent handle on the issues by offering a unique perspective on economics, healthcare and capitalism, as both a reformer liberal and a man of faith.

In his book, Father Sirico argues the best way to help the poor, the best way to preserve man’s God-given freedom, the best way to ensure the success of our country and its high ideals is through a free market economy. Furthermore, he shows us why the free market is not only the best way to ensure individual success and national prosperity, but also is the surest route to a moral, socially just and free society.

Defending the Free Market tackles some important topics, including:

  • How private enterprise has lifted millions out of dire poverty and starting a business is the best way to help the poor—not welfare
  • Why the free market is not only the best way to ensure individual success and national prosperity, but how it actually promotes charity, selflessness, and kindness
  • Why a free market system and economic freedom ensures that other freedoms we prize—including freedom of speech, freedom of religion, and individual liberty—are guaranteed
  • Why greed is not good and how Socialism – a materialist philosophy – not Capitalism encourages greed
