VEBO is an experience-based wedding registry that is now available to engaged couples throughout the state of Colorado.  VEBO’s website is and the full press kit is available at  VEBO offers engaged couples the opportunity to register for experiences such as winetasting, cooking classes, spa days and skydiving.  Denver entrepreneur, Cody Sudmeier, released VEBO on a pilot basis in 2015.  Sudmeier launched VEBO statewide on May 3,  2016.

“Various psychological studies illustrate that money actually can buy happiness, as long as money is spent on shared experiences with loved ones,” said Sudmeier.  “Consumers are recognizing this and shifting towards spending less on stuff and more on experiential  activities.”

Friends and family of the engaged couple can give experiences through the couple’s online registry at  VEBO also offers the “Join Us” option where couples can select certain experiences where they welcome their friends and family to join in the  activity.

Wedding registries are a $19B industry in the US.  91% of US wedding couples register for gifts.  Historically, the leaders in the wedding registry industry were retailers that provide household items.  This list includes companies such as Bed, Bath & Beyond, Target, Macy’s and Crate &  Barrel.

While the industry is still dominated by traditional retailers, alternative registries are gaining in popularity.  The majority of the alternative registries specialize in cash gifts.  VEBO is the first wedding registry exclusively dedicated to experiential  gifts.
