So Much for "Unaccompanied"

Despite the fact that 95 percent of all child referrals have been disqualified for “Unaccompanied Alien Child” status, the Office of Refugee Resettlement continues to refer to them as unaccompanied alien children in recent reports on their website.
In its most recent breakdown showing child releases by state, the Office of Refugee Resettlement claims to show “UAC release data from January 1st to July 31st,” which reflects a total of more than 37,477 children released during that time.
It is also about 35,000 more than the roughly 2,600 children Wolfe said are still actually in the department’s UAC program.
