Chinese American martial artist, veteran voice actor, stuntman, mo-cap performer, and fight choreographer Stephen Oyoung returns for the highly anticipated MARVEL’s Spider-Man 2 video game voicing super villain Marvel comic book character Martin Li, Mister Negative.
Featured on LOS ANGELES TIMES, CBR, and LOOPER, Stephen Oyoung discusses with Kevin Price his return to Spider-Man 2, how he built his career, and diversified his skills.
Oyoung is in demand in Hollywood after cutting his teeth in the industry for over 15 years training celebrities like KeanuReeves, Denzel Washington and Adam Driver. An industry professional, Oyoung’s credits include “Jupiter’s Legacy,” Spider-Man (Video game), Harry Potter: Magic Awakened, Starfield,Remnant II, THE EQUALIZER, THE LAST AIRBENDER, THOR, SICARIO, “GoodTrouble,” and “NCIS” to name a few, and he recently voiced the role of Jason Todd / Red Hood in WB Montreal’s 2022 video game GothamKnights.
Oyoung’s parents, his dad an engineer and mom a socialworker, came to America from Taiwan in the 1970’s. Born in Illinois and raised in SoCal, Oyoung became interested in acting at the age ofmseven and began appearing in school plays. His father taught him the martial art of Wushu, where he became highly adept in the craft. As he grew up, he began to feel that acting was his calling and was grateful to his fully supportive parents. Oyoung soon landed work in films such as LEGION, THE LAST AIR BENDER, THOR, SAFE, OLYMPUS HAS FALLEN,PEPPERMINT and SICARIO. He trained actors Keanu Reeves, Denzel Washington and Adam Driver for the films 47 RONIN, THE EQUALIZER and STAR WARS: THE FORCE AWAKENS, respectively. He appeared on television in major shows such as “CSI: Crime Scene Investigation,” “NCIS,” “Castle” and “Scandal.” In video games he portrayed a Jedi Master in Star Wars: The Old Republic and gained more recognition as Martin Li / Mister Negative in the 2018 video game Spider-Man.
