Trump: You Can’t Build Keystone Pipeline, Roads Without Seizing Private Property

Eminent domain is a necessary evil, so he would need to use it as president, Donald Trump told after Tuesday night’s GOP debate in Milwaukee.

Asked if he would use it to seize private property if it meant creating jobs, Trump said it has to be done in order to build things like the Keystone pipeline:

“I don’t like eminent domain. You do need it to build roads, highways – and, as an example, the Keystone Pipeline, you’re not going to build it unless you use eminent domain. So, you will need it, on occasion.”
