The Academy of United States Veterans, is proud to announce that the spirit of unity and solidarity will be on display as the Veterans and First Responders communities come together for the Inauguration of the 45th President of the United States of America. The Vettys Presidential Inaugural Ball and Awards will be held at the Hay-Adams hotel on January 20, 2017 at 7:00 pm hosted by the Academy of United States Veterans, Coalition to Salute America’s Heroes, Disabled American Veterans, Paralyzed Veterans of America, and United Technologies.
Honored guests will include General Mark A. Milley, Chief of Staff of the Army; General David L. Goldfein, Chief of Staff of the Air Force; General Joseph L. Lengyel, Chief of the National Guard Bureau; Honorable Patrick J. Murphy, Under Secretary of the Army; Melissa Fitzgerald, Senior Director of Justice for Vets; Steven Woolfe, Member of the European Parliament; Duane “Dog” Chapman, The Bounty Hunter and H.E. Dr. Bozo Cerar, Ambassador of the Republic of Slovenia. Radio personality and columnist Boone Cutler will co-emcee along with actor and Veteran advocate Jack Scalia. There will be performances by the Veterans rock band, Three Beards as well as a special acoustic performance of “Salute” by Cassidy Diana.
The Vettys will be presented to six outstanding Veterans Service Organizations and individuals for their boots on the ground dedication and selfless service to Veterans and their families. Recipients of the Vetty for 2017 include: Team Red, White and Blue for the Veterans Community Award; The Honorable Patrick J. Murphy, Under Secretary of the Army, Veterans Leadership Award; Coalition to Salute America’s Heroes, Veterans Homelessness Prevention Award; American Veterans Disabled for Life Memorial, Veterans Community Award; Dog Tag Inc, Veterans Employment Award; Southeastern Guide Dogs, Veterans Mental Health Award; and in memory of Navy SEAL LT Michael P. Murphy, the Education Award will be presented to Georgetown University.
The Vettys will salute and honor our Nations brave with a special tribute. Just as Veterans put their lives on the line for our freedom, our Nation’s First Responders put their lives on the line for our safety. It is with assurance that guests will leave the Vettys Presidential Inaugural Ball and Awards with a lasting impression and reflect on what the United States holds dear: Our Nations Heroes!
