Vanderbilt Mortgage and Finance, Inc., a Berkshire Hathaway company, is helping customers manage their overall financial success by providing them with FICO® Scores and educational tools for  free.

The initiative, launched this January, is part of the FICO® Score Open Access program, which aims to empower consumers to understand their credit  status.

“It’s important for us to provide our customers with the information they need to take control of their financial health,” said Eric Hamilton, President of Vanderbilt Mortgage and Finance, Inc. “With the FICO® Score Open Access program, we are able to give them insights that will allow them to better manage their credit  standing.”

The FICO® Score that Vanderbilt will provide to its customers will be updated quarterly and will be conveniently located on their monthly online statement. Customers can also access their FICO® Score information via the secure Vanderbilt Mortgage account portal. Additional resources, including a score meter and a rating explanation, are available at www.vmf.com/FICO, an educational site created by Vanderbilt to help customers understand key factors that impact their credit  score.

FICO® Scores are the credit scores financial institutions use most often when making lending decisions. Up until recently, however, FICO® Scores were not easily accessible for consumers. Vanderbilt is offering this benefit to its customers free of  charge.
