Dr. Linda Lagemann, has a Ph.D. in clinical psychology and over 25 years of experience in the mental health field. She is an Associate Clinical Professor in the Department of Medicine, University of California at San Francisco (UCSF) where she received the UCSF Annual Teaching Excellence Award three  times.
On a recent program they discussed the recent suicides of fashion designer Kate Spade and modern day Renaissance Man, Anthony Bourdain (TV host, author, chef, etc.).  Both of these celebrities were icons in their industry and the world was shocked by their  passing.
In this fascinating interview, Lagemann explores the one area that is rarely discussed when it comes to these suicides, but should be one of the main areas of focus for mental health professionals — mental health  medications.
Dr. Lagemann closed her office and has spent the past five years researching trends in the “mental health” field and the aggregate damage being done to the population by psychiatric labels and drugs, as seen in the rising statistics on suicides, school shootings, and various health problems. Dr. Lagemann now, unapologetically, uses quotation marks when referring to the “mental health”  field.
