How Santa Clara Celebrates Christmas

The city of Santa Clara is host to many of the Bay Area’s premier holiday events this year, including Winter Fest at California’s Great America theme park. Open November 24 – December 30, 2017, the Park transforms into a winter wonderland featuring spectacular holiday lights and decor, world-class live entertainment, luscious treats and fanciful  experiences.

Santa Clara’s annual Holiday Tree Lighting event is at the city’s Central Park (12/1). Also at Central Park is Santa Clara on Ice open November 20, 2017 – January 15, 2018Santa Clara’s annual Historic Home Tour displays vintage homes decorated for the holidays (12/1 & 12/2); and Caltrain’s Holiday Train featuring 60,000 lights and decorations makes its annual stop in Santa Clara  (12/2).

Santa Clara University Concert Choir and Chamber Singers perform at the 18th Annual Festival of Lights in beautiful Mission Santa Clara (12/1 & 12/2) and visitors to Rivermark Village can enjoy a horse drawn carriage, an elf hunt, and live entertainment  (12/3).

Bethlehem is a live outdoor drama at Santa Clara First Baptist Church (12/7 -12/11); “The Nutcracker Ballet” makes its annual appearance at the Santa Clara Convention Center (12/9-10); and Santa Clara Chorale Presents Vivaldi’s beloved Gloria along with traditional carols at Mission Santa Clara de Asis  (12/8 & 12/10).
