MusicLoon, an innovative app providing music lovers a complete and accurate list of all live, local music, today announced its launch in the Atlanta market. The app serves as the one-stop source for the city’s live music schedule, allowing users to see every day’s slated live music events on a map straight from their smartphone. Users can also filter shows further based on preferences including date, genre, venue type or neighborhood. Founder and long-time Atlanta resident Tim Hannon created MusicLoon in an effort to eliminate the hassle of searching for live  music.

“I’ve always had a passion for attending and exploring live music events, but tracking down shows and the schedules for all the music venues in the city always seem to pose problems,” said Hannon. “Too often the information provided like lineups, timing, or dates is inaccurate. My own frustrations made me determined to provide music lovers with one source for their live music  cravings.”

MusicLoon also offers users more than a compiled list of shows. Through complete and accurate data, users receive detailed information on each venue including parking, food availability, age restrictions, capacity as well as photos of the facility and bios of the bands on the  bill.

“We’re looking forward to MusicLoon launching in Atlanta,” said Josh Antenucci, senior partner of Rival Entertainment, operator of Center Stage, the Loft, and Vinyl. “We stage over 300 concerts a year and MusicLoon is positioned to be an effective tool to attract new music fans to our venues and remind existing customers of upcoming  shows.”

According to music experts around the country, as much as 40-50 percent of concert tickets go unsold because fans are unaware of shows taking place in town. MusicLoon is on a mission to eradicate this problem by making sure users are aware of all Atlanta area concerts and by connecting them with ticket sellers for same-day purchase. In addition to seeing a complete list of upcoming shows, users can also save the shows they want to see to their calendar within the  app.

“One thing I love about Atlanta is the music scene. There are so many shows I want to go to, but by the time I hear about them it’s often too late,” said Atlanta resident Jennifer Barron. “Now my friends and I can plan ahead for shows or when we go out we can use MusicLoon to find nearby shows that we may never have known were  happening!”

The app also provides users the ability to enter to win free concert tickets. Currently, two pairs of passes to Music Midtown featuring Elton John, Drake, Van Halen and Sam Smith on September 18-19 are up for grabs until September 15 with other giveaways, including The Neighbourhood, The Struts and the B-52s coming  soon.

MusicLoon is currently available for iOS and Android users and is free to download. To learn more about MusicLoon and to stay up to date on all live music happening in Atlanta, visit musicloon.com or follow @MusicLoon on  Twitter.
