Leading House Democrat on Russian Cyber Attacks During US Election

U.S. Congressman Lloyd Doggett, a member of the House Democratic Steering and Policy Committee and senior member of the House Ways and Means Committee, issued the following statement in reaction to the latest revelations on Russian  cyberattacks:

“Vladimir Putin’s preferred candidate has been selected as President. If the GOP is not to become the Grand Old Putin Party, its leadership must join in calling for an open, independent, bipartisan commission to explore Russian aggression against our democracy. It is totally unacceptable to consider this narrowly in a closed door, Republican-controlled proceeding. After all the time and taxpayer money wasted on Benghazi, surely this on-going threat warrants  attention.”
